We have been experimenting with long form improvisations or compositions from very early on, first documented on the limited digital release "Song1", and subsequently when we were attempting to record a new soundtrack for Horst's 1989 film "Rivers Flow", a project we eventually abandoned.
More recently, we have been returning to the long form, and "Confluence" emerged from one of these sessions. In a twist of musical fate, Horst used footage from "Rivers Flow" to create a video for this track, which you can watch at youtu.be/CpBL4hj0iNw
On this single, we are giving you two versions of "Confluence", which are quite different in character: the first more meditative, the second more psychedelic. In addition, there's a shorter, similarly water-themed track, "Of the Magnificent Sea", which we simply liked too much to bury it in the vaults.
